Fortcullis in Stockwell

Multisecure’s Fortcullis range of communal entrance doorsets and glazed screens is being used to provide tenants with real security and peace of mind in an inner London housing estate. Installation of over 100 high-security Fortcullis doorset and screen packages forms part of an 18-month upgrade project at the Studley Estate in Stockwell for Lambeth Housing Association. Main contractor Rydon Construction was keen for Multisecure to project manage through to manufacture and provide design advice so that doorsets and screens matched those in earlier phases. Multisecure serves the whole of the UK security doorset market and has developed a unique procurement framework to provide clients nationwide with complete solutions to physical security needs, including a network of trained Approved Installers. Product supply is direct to the main contractor to keep costs low and define responsibilities, while dedicated Project Managers coordinate the installer, the contractor and manufacture. The Fortcullis range is based on the traditional portcullis design but uses composite timber construction eliminating weaker mortice and tenon joints. This gives much greater strength, enhanced by raised muntins applied to both sides of glazing cut-outs. All Fortcullis doorsets also include a continuous steel hinge and gap guards for safety, and can be factory-prepared for various lock systems including electric-strikes or maglocks.
